Mercedes F1 boss Toto Wolff sustained injury to his knee during the team’s post-seasons celebrations in Abu Dhabi.

The drivers and constructors champions held a party for the end of the season following the final Grand Prix in Abu Dhabi.

Wolff was speaking at an event from team sponsor Hewlett-Packard where he admitted he was using crutches after injuring his Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL).
“Lots of partying and the ACL gave up in the knee,” Wolff said.

Hamilton’s victory in Abu Dhabi was his eleventh of the season and topped off a, yet again, successful season for Mercedes in retaining the drivers championship and constructors championship for the fifth year in a row.

“One of the very famous racing drivers who was there at the party said in your body only your brain works and the rest is a wreck.”

The 46-year-old has had a series of injuries in the past. Such as breaking his knee cap in 2015 and fracturing his shoulder, collar bone, elbow and wrist in a cycling accident in 2014.
