Red Bull Racing juniors Dan Ticktum and Lucas Auer have had their Super Formula switches confirmed in the team's tie-up with the Honda Formula Dream Project.

Ticktum finished runner-up in the Formula 3 European Championship, with Mick Schumacher pipping him to first place. He has long been tipped to be the programme's next Formula 1 driver.

The 19-year-old British junior didn't have the necessary superlicense points to make the cut in F1 in 2019; but Ticktum will not make the step up to Formula 2, like many expected, instead he will race in Super Formula with Mugen.

Tomoki Nojiri will be Ticktum's new team-mate at Mugen.

Ticktum and Auer are both currently taking part in series rookie test at Suzuka - as the pair prepare to represent Red Bull in the Super Formula series.

Auer has tested with Force India before in F1, whilst also winning races for Mercedes in the DTM.

Red Bull's junior programme has produced some big names in Formula One in the past; with Max Verstappen, Daniel Ricciardo and Sebastian Vettel all coming through the Red Bull programme.
