Verstappen: "I'm not going to look like an idiot" for Ocon punishment

We thought this had all blown over now and Max Verstappen would be doing his two days of community service any time now. But it turns out that the punishment for his fracas with Force India driver Esteban Ocon after the Brazilian Grand Prix has not been decided yet.

Verstappen was raging with Ocon after the Frenchman sent him into a spin whilst trying to unlap himself as Verstappen was leading the race.

The incident allowed Lewis Hamilton to swoop through and denied Verstappen the victory, instead the Dutchman had to settle for second.

Speaking to Sky Sports following the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Verstappen said: “I think anyway I’m already very harshly treated by that, so we’ll find something suitable, because I’m not going to look like an idiot.”

“We’ll discuss, between the team and the FIA, what we’re going to do. If I agree with it, it doesn’t really matter, does it?

“What can you do about it? I find it a bit harsh but yeah… We’ll find a solution.”

Who knows, we could see Max Verstappen litter picking on a street near you! Or maybe not…
