Daniel Ricciardo is racing his last race for Red Bull Racing in Abu Dhabi this weekend - and he thinks it could be a cracker we have in store; with six drivers to fight for the season finale win!

The Aussie is bidding farewell to Red Bull this weekend, with a switch to Renault confirmed for next season - and the driver is determined to sign off on a high for the energy drink brand.

Ricciardo has struggled all season with several mechanical issues, which has led to him being the driver with the most retirements (8).

But this weekend, there's no engine penalties - and the Australian managed third quickest in the second free practice session on Friday.

Ricciardo believes an all-out six-driver battle for the crown in Abu Dhabi is something we could see on Sunday.

"Long runs are good. The short runs we can be better," Ricciardo explained to Crash.net. "But we showed signs of the pace we had. I'm pretty happy with today. Hopefully we can be in there Sunday. It would be nice to see a six-way fight.

"In qualifying, we still need to be on the first two rows to really be in with a shot. If we are there, Sunday should be fine."

Ricciardo is currently enduring his longest drought without a podium finish since stepping up from Toro Rosso, and the last time he was on the podium, he clinched the Monaco Grand Prix.

"Since Monaco, I've wanted a good weekend, so especially now as it is the last chance with the team to do it," Ricciardo continued. "Today was pretty good. But we can still improve on some areas, but generally we seem more or less in the window."
