Alain Prost has admitted Renault are "not unhappy" to lose Red Bull as a customer next season after a heated relationship between the teams.

Red Bull are making the move to Honda as their new power unit suppliers for 2019, with the energy drink brand blaming Renault for their lack of a title challenge this season.

Red Bull Racing were dominant before 2014, with Sebastian Vettel taking four titles in a row for the team.

Vettel then left the team in at the end of the 2014 season, and the team haven't been the dominant force since.

The Red Bull team including Max Verstappen, Christian Horner and Helmut Marko have taken constant digs at Renault for their unreliable power unit this season, and Renault advisor Prost is looking forward to a more calm time in 2019.

"We were ultimately not unhappy to see them go, to be honest," Prost explained to L'Equipe. "I keep very good relationships with them, even if I criticise their way of communicating. It's still a little too far, and they know it."

Daniel Ricciardo will be staying with the Renault power unit for next season; with the Red Bull driver making the move from the third placed team down to the team occupying P4.
