Ticktum annoyed by Super Licence points

Ticktum "annoyed" by Super Licence points

Red Bull young driver Dan Ticktum’s struggles to acquire a super licence have been well documented in recent times and the 19 year-old is looking to get enough points before the start of the 2019 season.

Whilst Ticktum is unlikely to be thrust into the vacant Toro Rosso seat for next year, but he is keen to earn his licence just in case the call comes.

The Londoner finished second in European Formula 3 this year, losing out to Michael Schumacher’s son Mick by over 50 points.

He won four races, but it still isn’t enough to secure him a racing licence. However, he is eligible to partake in FP1 sessions.

He said: "It has been a bit annoying. I have enough to test and do everything - the only thing I don't have enough to do now is race.

"So I have enough to do FP1s and all the rest of it, but I need to try to get myself 40 by the beginning of next season because you never know what will happen.

"There are many opportunities I can use: MRF Challenge and the Toyota Racing Series. If there's a way, I'll do it."
