Charles Leclerc can be satisfied with second place. Yet the Monegasque is disappointed after the race. Speaking to F1TV, the Ferrari driver says he thinks he would have won without the final safety car.

It has been almost a year and a half since Leclerc won a race. In Austria in 2022, the Monegasque managed to beat Max Verstappen. In Las Vegas, he was really close to winning again for the first time, but after the final safety car he was at a disadvantage in terms of his tyres.

After the race, Leclerc says he is happy with second place and the points, but also slightly disappointed: "I hate to say 'what if', but I really believe that if the safety car had not been there we would have won. Restarting on used tyres after the safety car was a big disadvantage for us and that's where we lost the race, because Red Bull did have new tyres then."
