Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo has revealed that the Austrian team won't let him test with Renault after the season has ended in Abu Dhabi, even though the Aussie will no longer drive for the Bulls in 2019.

Ricciardo shocked the F1 to its core this summer when he announced that he will be taking his talents to the team of Renault in 2019, which seems like a step down from Red Bull. Many speculated that the 29-year-old wanted to be the undisputed number one driver at a team, something which simply isn't possible at Red Bull next to the mercurial Max Verstappen.

Talking about next season, Ricciardo revealed to Motorsport.com that as he's still under contract at Red Bull at that moment, the team won't let him test with Renault at Abu Dhabi post-season.

"I'm not allowed to test," he said.

“I can’t drive for Red Bull and they won’t let me drive for Renault.

“So it is okay. I can have a holiday,” he said with a wink.

Red Bull team principal Christian Horner added to this, saying that it's purely because of the Aussie's contract that he's not allowed to run for Renault in Abu Dhabi, and certainly not anything personal.
