Esteban Ocon is eyeing a move to Williams, but has said it would only be on a short-term deal with "good opportunities for 2020".

The rumour doing the rounds currently is that Ocon will remain in Formula One next season, with Williams prepared to offer him a seat alongside George Russell.

Sergey Sirotkin's season has been very underwhelming for the team, and Lance Stroll is almost certain to replace Ocon at Force India, following his father's consortium taking over the team.

Ocon opened up on some mysterious "good opportunites" for 2020, meaning any deal would be a short-term one.

"At the moment, we are still on the same level," Ocon said. "Still discussions, there are still possibilities for me next year. But really if that's not the case, and if I don't find a seat next year we see still good opportunities for 2020."

Ocon showed his class, with the Frenchman being very quick to congratulate Russell, when the young Brit was announced as a Williams driver for next season.

The Force India driver was still very complimentary over the Mercedes junior driver.

"It's good to see that George is promoted," Ocon said. "He's also part of the Mercedes junior programme (like Ocon). He signed for multiple years, that was not our intention to sign for those many years.

"There's still a second seat in the Williams, there's still talks so we'll see where that goes."
