Daniel Ricciardo has confirmed that he is not worried about Renault's recent dip in form ahead of the Aussie's switch to the French team next season.

During this season's summer break, Ricciardo stunned the Formula One world, when he announced that he'd be ending his long relationship with Red Bull to drive for Renault next season.

Brilliant news for Renault; but ever since the announcement, the team's form has been very disappointing, and Haas are now increasingly pressurising them for the fourth spot.

Nico Hulkenberg, who will welcome Ricciardo to drive alongside him at Renault in 2019, has admitted that his team have fallen behind to its rivals in the development battle this season.

Ricciardo doesn't seem too bothered about the team's recent slump, though, and nothing can put the cheerful Aussie down ahead of his career-defining move.

"When I signed (for Renault) I knew there was work ahead and I know they are putting a lot of effort into putting things better and expanding all departments to try to make 2019 stronger and then 2020," Ricciardo explained.

"The way the last few races have been this year... obviously it would be nice to see them improve every race but I honestly don't look too much into it yet. I think 2019 is a new car and is going to be a fresh start again so I am not spending too much energy on that at the moment.

"All I can do at the moment is once my year is done is try to be fully immersed in it all and try to help as much as I can to see how things go from there."
