Hamilton: "Ferrari will push until the final corner in Abu Dhabi"

Lewis Hamilton may well be inches away from claiming his fifth World title, but the Brit insists he has to keep on his toes as Ferrari "will keep pushing" until the very end. In the United States Grand Prix this weekend, Hamilton needs to beat Sebastian Vettel by eight points to win the Championship three rounds early.

"The battle for the championship is exciting, and we can not wait for the next chapter in the epic battle of silver and red," Hamilton said on the Mercedes website.

"Although we did not have the fastest car in the summer, we turned it around in the last races."

However, the 33-year-old is keeping himself alert heading into the final four races. He suggests the performance gap isn't as big as it looks and that Ferrari will continue to push.

"Ferrari has an incredibly strong package, and they will keep pushing until the very last corner in Abu Dhabi. In the last seventeen races, they were a valuable opponent, and we have no reason to believe that will change in the last four Grands Prix," Hamilton added.

Though we do have our doubts. Surely Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen would have swapped over in the final stages of the Japanese Grand Prix if they had their hopes up?
