Former F1 driver Felipe Massa believes that the old V8 engines in the sport, lack the power and aggression that the current turbo hybrid power units possess.

Massa's comments came after he was testing out some of his former Ferrari cars last weekend.

The Brazilian driver was invited by Ferrari to drive in a historic demonstration.

This was the first time that Massa had driven an F1 car since his retirement at the end of last season, and the former Ferrari man said that he preferred the lighter cars to the current ones, but the older engines weren't quite as good.

"It's a big difference in the car," Massa told Autosport. "I would say I enjoy much more the old car because it is quite light, with the change of direction, the reaction.

"But the engine, while it is much more fun because there is more noise, there is much less power. So the engine that we have now is a lot more aggressive and more powerful than this old car.'
