Hamilton relates to Schumacher in order to answer critics

Lewis Hamilton has related his controversial move at the Russian Grand Prix to Michael Schumacher. The Brit reminds his critics how the majority of fans remember Schumacher for the seven titles he won, not for the controversial team orders carried out by Ferrari.

Hamilton and Mercedes have generated plenty of questions after Valtteri Bottas and the championship leader swapped places. The four-time world champion is now 50-points clear over Sebastian Vettel and looks favourite to win his fifth crown.

"I was very confused after this victory. Of course, I was happy because this was what the team wanted and because we increased the lead on Sebastian Vettel. At the same time, I also knew that this did not feel right," Hamilton told UOL Esporte.

"People do not remember good or bad tactics, but people remember who wins. Just look at seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher. He is seen as the best ever, but were always perfect choices and strategies? Not every race is won properly. Sometimes, too much happens next to the job."

Ferrari employed similar tactics at the Austrian Grand Prix when Rubens Barrichello pulled over allowing Schumacher to take the win.

In other words...Hamilton says win at all costs.
