The F1 drivers are used to the night lights in Singapore, but the new head of the Russian Grand Prix has hinted that the race in Sochi could be undergoing the same treatment soon.

At the start of the year, old organizer Dmitry Kozak said that he had no intentions of making the Russian Grand Prix a night race. With no sunlight, the camera's wouldn't be able to capture the beautiful landscape, he argued. The head of the organization has changed, however, and so has the attitude of the organization.

"We always want to find the best way to entertain the fans in the best way possible," Alexei Titov, whose company hosts the Russian Grand Prix, told Ria Novosti.

"The event we had now is great, but you can always look at new possibilities.

"Now you can see all the beauty of Russia in daylight, but maybe, the night brings even more beauty out of Russia."

As you can see in the featured image above, the back drop of the Russian Grand Prix is beautiful right now, with snowy mountains looming over the Sochi circuit. Trading that off for night lights could be a pity, although night races do bring a different kind of spectacle with them, as fatigue becomes a bigger factor.

Would it be a good idea for the Russian Grand Prix to be raced during the night? We don't think it is, but if you do, leave a comment and explain to us why!
