Interested parties can no longer apply for a spot as a team on the F1 grid. The FIA has revealed that the next phase of the process regarding the admission of new F1 teams from 2026 has begun.

The FIA cannot officially confirm all parties that have signed up. What we do know for certain is that Andretti Racing has signed up in partnership with Cadillac. Other contenders who have made themselves known in the past year are LKY Sunz, Formula Equal, Hitech Grand Prix and Calvin Lo.

FIA in next phase admission process for new F1 teams

Speaking to Racer.com, the FIA informed that it is in the process of making an initial assessment of the applications received. A spokesman says: "There will be no communication during this part of the process, as the FIA deals with applicants in confidentiality, and it may also be necessary to provide clarification to potential applicants."

The spokesperson added: "The assessment of each application will focus on the team's technical capabilities and resources, the team's ability to raise and maintain sufficient funds to enable participation in the championship at a competitive level, and the team's experience and personnel."
