Robert Kubica admits he will look elsewhere if he does not land a Formula One seat in 2019...

2010 was the last time the Polish driver made a race due to a horrific injury early in 2011 as a result of a rally crash.

Williams driver Lance Stroll looks almost definite to move to Force India following his dad's takeover of the team and Williams could promote Kubica (their reserve driver).

Kubica admitted to Motorsport.com that if he does not get himself back in the F1 grid for next season, then he may look away from the sport for future options.

"I spent a lot of time and effort to have a chance and the priority would be to be on the starting grid in Australia," Kubica revealed. "But if this doesn't happen, I would consider some different championship or different role. As I said, now I'm focused on trying to get a chance."

Kubica believes that it would take him a long time to get back into the "rhythm" he had before his injury all those years ago.

"When you don't do it for a long time or you do it like I do it, every three months, it's normal that you have to go through different phases in order to get back your rhythm, get back feelings as natural as possible," Kubica added.

"If you would take even the best tennis player and you say to him: now you stop for six years. Even without injuries, nothing.

"Then you give him one hour training and smash him into the final of Wimbledon, he will probably struggle more than all the people who are playing regularly.

"I would have so much time in the car (if he'd have raced this season), there would be no more question marks about myself."
