Leclerc explains picture of bad Ferrari

Things are not as bad as the picture often is painted after race weekends at Ferrari. In Barcelona before the start of the Spanish GP weekend, the Monegasque was asked what his realistic view of the car's performance is. Leclerc revealed to GPBlog and others: "I think the reality of things is that obviously it's a disappointing start of the year for us."

"We started from a very hopeful season last year," the Ferrari driver continued. "Where we finished second in the  Drivers and Constructors Championship, building the momentum, hopefully fighting for the championship this year. And at the end, we are further away than where we were."

The conclusion is: "I think, yes, it looks bigger than what it actually is inside the team, but we cannot hide ourselves." Leclerc takes a lot of hope from the team's promising qualifying results. Saturdays are just not producing points. Ferrari is on a total of 90 points at P4 behind Mercedes and Aston Martin and far behind Red Bull Racing.
