Sergio Perez has said that he hopes to announce his future beyond this season before the next Grand Prix, which is at Singapore in two weeks' time, as the Mexican to stay at Force India.

RaceFans previously reported that Perez already signed an extension at Force India, but that has yet to be announced by the team.

The Mexican is expected to be joined by Lance Stroll at Racing Point Force India, as his father Lawrence had a big hand in the take-over of the team. Stroll could be replacing Esteban Ocon before the end of the season.

“I hope that I can be in a position to announce my plans by Singapore and stop with these questions," Perez said when asked about his future plans at Monza.

With Stroll probably being his new teammate, Perez explained that he had no problem with the son of the owner driving alongside him.

“I think Lawrence has come here obviously to find a great place for his son but at the same time he’s investing a lot of money, he wants the team to be successful so that means both drivers.

“I do believe in the project, I know the people.

"I’ve worked with everyone here for five years - I wouldn’t be comfortable if I didn’t know the people and so on.

“I know how competitive this team is.

"I know Lawrence, the plan he has to make this team great and make this investment worth the value.

"I have no problems with him.”
