The breaking news is that Stoffel Vandoorne won't be resigning for McLaren next season and the side need to find a new driver for the Belgian's seat...

Lando Norris:

Norris is currently contracted with McLaren as a junior driver and has taken Vandoorne's place in a couple of practice sessions recently.

Zak Brown has also come out and said that Norris is "ready" for Formula One and McLaren - last week the comments were made, is that a huge hint?

"He's ready for F1," Brown said. "We have three or four drivers on the shortlist and he is one of them."

Norris is currently driving in Formula 2 and involved in a title battle with Mercedes' George Russell, with the McLaren man currently sitting in second place.

Sergio Perez:

It came as a shock when Sky Sports F1 announced that Perez was a target for McLaren prior to the race at Monza.

Perez is one of the most naturally gifted drivers in Formula One and has proved that with his career - he is currently in brilliant form with Force India.

Force India's financial complications may have an influence on Perez's decision.

The Mexican driver was at McLaren in 2013, when he was signed as Lewis Hamilton's replacement, but he only spent one season in Woking before joining Force India where he's been ever since.

Esteban Ocon:

Ocon has been linked with making a switch from Force India to McLaren, like Perez.

The Frenchman drove brilliantly in yesterday's Italian Grand Prix - securing a sixth placed finish for Force India.

The 21-year-old is contracted with Mercedes which may cause a few complications, but it could be a similar deal that Carlos Sainz did with Renault - when he was owned by Red Bull.

Ocon could be one of Formula One's superstars in the future at such a young age, like the front runner Norris.
