Ferrari CEO Louis Camilleri has revealed that the team hasn't made a decision yet about Kimi Raikkonen's future, as the Finn's contract expires by the end of the year.

Earlier in the season, it looked like Raikkonen was toast. Charles Leclerc looked to be a sure thing for 2019. Now, several months later, it's the Ice Man who is the front-runner for the spot, as the 38-year-old has had an inspiring season.

Speaking to the media at Monza, Camilleri told that no decision has been made yet regarding who will be partnering Sebastian Vettel at the prancing horse in 2019.

“We have not taken a decision yet,” he told PlanetF1.

“When we take that decision, and there is no time frame, you will be the second to know.

“I know Kimi very well.

“He is a dear friend and has been for a long time.

“As for the decision making process, it is a team decision.

“Maurizio [Arrivabene] who is team principal will ultimately take the decision but he and I will discuss it, and once we are ready we will take it.”

Yesterday, Raikkonen flexed his muscles again, coming in second at the second free practice behind his teammate Vettel. He's very well liked in the team, both by Vettel and by the team itself, so it looks to be a matter of time before they announce his extension. Still, it ain't over until the fat lady sings.
