Red Bull advisor Dr Helmut Marko is convinced that the team's new partner from 2019, Honda, has unmatched resources and will have more quality in terms of research and development than any other team.

Honda is set to supply Red Bull and Toro Rosso of power in the coming two seasons, and Marko looks to be very pleased with the deal. Red Bull will be as close to a factory team as they can be, as the Bulls will be the sole customer of the Japan-based engine manufacturer.

"With Toro Rosso everything is working perfectly," Marko told ServusTV when asked about the potential of the Honda partnership.

"Next year Honda will make a much bigger effort.

"They have a development centre in Sakura which nobody can keep up with.

"The Japanese have a different culture and a different way of working - you learn that over time."

Seeing as the partnership of Honda with McLaren went spectacularly wrong, question marks have been raised whether they'll be a good fit for Red Bull. Marko countered that point by explaining what they'll be doing differently than McLaren.

"Our approach with Honda is different than McLaren's.

"They were telling them how they wanted the engine to be built, we just say, 'Build the fastest engine possible for us, then we will try to fit it into the chassis'.

"We don't have any demands, we discuss everything together."
