Charles Leclerc was one of the standout drivers in the first half of the season. Linked with a possible drive at Ferrari, the Monegasque driver says he is hopeful of finding that familiar rhythm after the weeks of for F1's summer break.

Having spent some time in Bali during the break, Leclerc said that it will be important to get back into the groove that he enjoyed in the first half of the season, eclipsing his teammate and scoring the majority of Sauber's points in 2018.

“Although it was nice to have some time off and review the first half of the season, it is good to return to racing,” he said in the Sauber race preview.

“The most important thing will be to get back in the rhythm as quickly as possible, and as a team, to regroup and focus on our target, which is to continue making progress as we did during the first half of the season.

The Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps is a very special one. The lap is very long, and it has all different kinds of corners, which makes it interesting to drive on. I look forward to being back in the car there.”

Although he was disqualified last year in Formula 2, his race victory will give him confidence going into his first year at the circuit in Formula One, winning his previous three races at Spa prior to the exclusion in 2017.

Leclerc currently sits 15th in the championship on 13 points.
