Christian Horner disagrees with Sergio Perez that Red Bull Racing was all about one car before his arrival. The team boss was surprised by his driver's statements, but managed to put a nice spin on it.

Perez feels completely comfortable at Red Bull Racing and that feeling has only got stronger after his victory in Saudi Arabia. Prior to the Australian Grand Prix, Perez revealed that he feels really good within the team. According to the Mexican, it is now also clear within Red Bull what he can do and for the first time, the team is running at full strength with two drivers. This was not the case in the past, according to Perez.

Perez speaks out

Horner seems surprised when confronted with those statements during the press conference in Melbourne. "That's the first time I've heard him saying that," the team boss sounds surprised. "We always have run two cars since we entered the sport in 2005 and we always want to have the best two drivers that we can in the car and I think it's great to see Checo doing certainly a great job now."

Horner looks back at the difficult start Perez had with the team but sees Max Verstappen's teammate growing over the years. However, Horner contradicts Perez that this is for the first time in the team's history.

''As a team, we've always strived to give both drivers the best opportunity and the best equipment we can and then it's down to what they do on the track and that's whether it's Max and Checo or Daniel and Max or Daniel and Seb or Mark and Seb or even going back to David Coulthard and Mark Webber. That's the way we've always rolled,'' the Red Bull Racing team boss concludes.
