Formula 1 drivers have already completed two races in the 2023 season. From the Middle East, the F1 teams travel to Australia, and for many viewers that means getting up early to watch the sessions live on the upcoming race weekend.

Red Bull Racing was supreme in the first two Grands Prix. While Max Verstappen dominated the Bahrain GP, Sergio Perez had his chance in Saudi Arabia. Verstappen drove a superb catch-up race, but saw himself posting similar lap times to his teammate in the second half of the race. As a result, the reigning world champion had to settle for second place.

The Austrian team will be hoping that the Australian GP goes better than last year's. Ferrari, especially Charles Leclerc, showed superior pace all weekend and maintained it throughout the race. Verstappen and Perez were on a podium course, but for Verstappen the race ended in his second DNF of the season. Perez moved up to P2 as a result and was the only Red Bull on the podium.

Rivalry between teammates Verstappen and Perez

In the final stages of the Saudi Arabia GP, a true duel unfolded between the two Red Bulls. Both were told to adjust their pace downwards, but both struggled to comply. Perez defended his leading position, but Verstappen pulled away for the extra point by posting the fastest time on the final lap.

Apart from Red Bull, Fernando Alonso will also be watched again. The Aston Martin driver was on the podium in both races and is yearning to climb the top step of the podium again. Meanwhile, Ferrari and Mercedes still appear to be falling short, but both teams are working hard on updates and it seems a matter of time before they too are back on top.
