Kimi Raikkonen has released a book about his career today in Finland. The Ferrari driver has been tipped to sign a new contract with the team after recent speculation linked him with a vacant Sauber seat left by his possible replacement Charles Leclerc.

Raikkonen attended the launch with wife Minttu at the Resturant Wallis in Helsinki and was interviewed by Finnish broadcaster MTV3 about the biography. Written by popular Finnish author Kari Hotakainen, the book has been released in Finnish and Swedish and will be available in other languages soon.

In an Instagram post last week, Raikkonen announced the book himself: “My story so far, available in Finnish and Swedish on August 16, 2018. Other languages will follow soon after.”

Raikkonen's story from humble beginnings to world champion at Ferrari gives insight into one of the most popular drivers in recent times. Raikkonen's monotone and uninterested demeanour endeared him to fans around the world in a sport full of PR interference.

Whether or not Raikkonen does continue on in Formula One beyond the current 2018 season remains to be seen. Whilst teammate Sebastian Vettel is happy with having the experienced Finn as his teammate, Ferrari may opt to put the promising Leclerc alongside the four-time champion for next season.
