The F1 Exhibition has opened in Madrid. The new Formula 1 museum is filled with all kinds of great moments from F1 history, with the teams also doing their bit. At least, almost all the teams.

On Thursday, GPblog was in Madrid for the opening of the F1 Exhibition. At the exhibition, Formula 1 proudly presents its first museum with all kinds of highs and lows of the sport, including Romain Grosjean's burnt-out chassis after his crash in Bahrain.

Aston Martin does not help

Almost all F1 teams helped set up this project. Nine out of 10 teams helped, but which team did not cooperate? ''The team that has not yet contributed is Aston Martin,'' said Tim Harvey, Lead Curator and Producer of the project, at the press conference.

Harvey does understand the choice, given Aston Martin's current results. ''I think it was the right decision, by the way. The reason that they're not contributing is because they told me they needed to concentrate on being a great Formula One racing team. And I think that they have succeeded in that if you look at the results from the last two races.''

''They've got now a truly great driver, or another truly great driver, driving for them, in Fernando Alonso. So I fully respect their decision. And I hope that they'll be able to come and see the show and maybe participate for the next show,'' Harvey concludes. The F1 Exhibition in Madrid can be seen until 4 June 2023.
