Three days after the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, a hot topic is the competition between Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez. Speaking on the Formula One podcast of Sky Sports, David Croft sees a possible problem for Verstappen on the road and takes the attack towards senior.

It was once again about Jos Verstappen's reaction to Sergio Perez's celebrations. The footage showed Verstappen looking somewhat frosty during the celebrations and in the podcast, the team focused on Verstappen senior's petulant look.

"All is clearly not well in Jos Verstappen's mind when his son finishes second and leads the world championship and he can barely break a smile. What was going on there?" stated David Croft.

'Cranky Jos Verstappen'

Matt Baker, on the other hand, did not understand why Jos went to the front of the celebrations. "Being front and centre, rather than taking a step back. He was front and centre, knew the cameras would be there. He looked quite grumpy, didn't he?"

'Why would Perez still help Verstappen?'

While the panel suspects that relations between Verstappen Senior and Perez are not good, they think the same about Junior with his teammate. It could yet become a problem for the two-time World Champion, thinks Crofty: "Perez is in the last year of his deal at Red Bull so if there's no signs of another deal coming, what's in it for Sergio to start helping his teammate in the way Red Bull would like?"

Compliments for Red Bull

Yet the British commentator also has words of praise for the Austrian racing stable. "They've done a superb job with this car which should be applauded. We all applauded McLaren when Prost and Senna were winning everything, we applauded Mercedes for the job they did at the start of the turbo hybrid era. We should applaud Red Bull for this as well because excellence is what we want to see in sport. I think there are a few banana skins down the road."
