Hulkenberg doesn't "feel drained" on holiday

Nico Hülkenberg is certainly grateful for the time the teams get off in August, but the German driver has acknowledged that he doesn't feel drained even though there were five races in the last six weeks before the break.

The 30-year-old Hülkenberg is having a great season so far, as he leads all drivers who aren't at the big three teams. He is the best of the rest with 52 points after twelve races.

The German has opted to spend his time off to do as little as possible, to have a break from constantly flying around from one race to the next.

"I just switch to vacation mode," he explained to Motorsport-Total.com.

"You spend time with the people you care about, you do things you like, there are no work schedules, so you have two weeks off completely and you can free up the time, but of course you have to come down first."

With five of the twelve races having taken place in the last six weeks, Hülkenberg worries that the mechanics and engineers of the team could be exhausted, rather than himself or his teammate Carlos Sainz.

"Of course, we drivers are naturally challenged physically in the car, but have time to relax between races, but the team works almost around the clock, and as a driver, you're in a kind of luxury position."
