After Lance Stroll said he didn't really learn much from his time at Williams with Felipe Massa, the Brazilian has now hit back by saying he's never seen anyone do more for a teammate than he did for the young Canadian.

Massa didn't respond to Stroll's comments for a long time, as Stroll said his comments at the start of the year to respond to the fact that Williams had little experience in their line-up this year.

The Brazilian legend does not agree, to put it lightly.

"I've done so much for that boy," Massa said to Brazilian tv-show Bial.

"I've known him since he was seven years old, which is why I found it beautiful to come back to F1 to help him.

"I helped him to get to know the car, the tyres and the speed because I had a good feeling about him.

"He was so young and had a lot to learn."

Massa even thinks that the amount of work that he put in to help the young Stroll has never been done before, not even by his mentor Michael Schumacher. He then ends by criticizing Williams for their lack of ambition when it comes to recruitment.

"I've been active in the sport for years and I've never seen a driver support another driver like that.

"Even my mentor Michael Schumacher didn't do as much for me as I did for Lance.

"Now, Williams are stuck with two drivers who are only there because of their money, because Williams aren't looking for the best drivers any more."

Whether Massa is right or Stroll, the last point the Brazilian made is certainly true. Williams did opt for the richest drivers instead of the best ones, and with their title sponsor Martini after this season, this is unlikely to change any time soon.
