The Formula 1 season finally gets underway again with the winter test in Bahrain. At the Bahrain International Circuit, the drivers and teams will come into action for the first time in 2023 and we will see what the engineers have come up with for the upcoming season. The F1 season starts as usual with the winter test. This year no longer in Barcelona, where very often the first meters of the season were made in recent years. In 2023, Formula 1 teams and drivers will have only three days in Bahrain to test the new car for the upcoming season.

Verstappen in action immediately

During the first day of the winter test, reigning world champion Max Verstappen will be directly in action for Red Bull Racing. The Dutchman will take charge of the entire first day of testing, before stepping in on Friday afternoon only. Nyck de Vries will also make his first official metres for AlphaTauri on Thursday. He will drive in the afternoon after Yuki Tsunoda will be in action in the morning.

During the day, follow the winter test with GPblog's liveblog. The winter test starts at 7:00 am UK time and ends at 16:30. In between, there will also be a short break. During the break, some teams will change drivers.
