Mick Schumacher is entering his first season with Mercedes. Whereas in the past two years he had a regular place with Haas F1, this calendar year he will have to settle for a role as a reserve driver with his new team. However, the driver sees plenty of room to learn at the German formation.

After a disappointing season, Mercedes hope to compete for the world title again this year. The team is convinced that to do so it not only needs the qualities of Lewis Hamilton and George Russell, but that Schumacher can also do his bit.

Schumacher wants to develop at Mercedes

For now, Schumacher will have to wait to make his debut in a Mercedes car. However, the driver is hopeful and thinks he has made the right choice by switching to Mercedes. He explained this during the unveiling of the W14, with which Mercedes will enter the new season.

"I will be on the sidelines this year but I will do my best to support them," Schumacher stated. "To be present trackside, have a look at the videos and see if there's anything I can spot. For myself, I am here to learn. Try to take as much on board for myself and put that into work in the future."
