Ocon refuses to reveal contract details amid Renault rumours!

It’s no secret that Esteban Ocon is a sought-after driver in the Formula One world. He has impressed in his almost two years in the sport and has been strongly linked with a move to Renault after Mercedes resigned both Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas for the 2019 season.

The French driver has seen an upturn in his form recently, scoring points in five of the last six races, elevating him to 11th in the championship standings.

The situation regarding next year’s seats for Toro Rosso, Force India and Renault is a confusing one, with Carlos Sainz potentially returning to Toro Rosso, opening up a space at Renault, which Ocon has been tipped to take.

However, when questioned about details of his contract, Ocon did not reveal anything.

He was asked about a rumoured clause in his contract that states he is only allowed to move to a Mercedes powered team: “I won’t go into details. I’m not getting to that. I am managed by Mercedes and this is not a secret. But no, I’m not going to go into details on my contract.

“When there will be something then you will be first to know.

“Of course when there are rumours then it is always good as it means people are watching you on track.

“But on my side I am always focused on the job I have to do.”
