Williams driver Lance Stroll is excited about returning to the Hockenheimring this weekend, after the driver said he has "fond memories" of the circuit.

Lance Stroll says he has "fond memories" from his junior racing days of the Hockenheimring.

The iconic German track makes a return to Formula One after a year's absence from the sport.

The Williams driver feels that the track is a "cool" one and it has a good flow to it.

"This is a cool track that has a great flow and I know it really well," Stroll told The Checkered Flag.

Stroll has raced at the track in his Formula 3 days and had much success there too.

"I have very fond memories of driving there and it has always treated me well," Stroll said.

"I have won three races there in the past and our Formula 3 car always worked pretty well there."

This will be Stroll's first experience of the German track whilst racing in F1 this weekend.

"I have not seen an F1 race there, but I'm told that the atmosphere in the stadium is section is electric," added Stroll.

"The town itself is not much of a place and usually there is not much happening there, but I am sure that will be very different when the F1 fans get back there after not having had a German race for two years."
