Guenther Steiner insists he has absolutely no regrets about Haas' approach to Formula One.

Haas' team principal Guenther Steiner is sure that he has no regrets about Haas' somewhat controversial approach to the sport since its birth in 2016.

The American team are doing well this season, sitting behind the top three teams in outright performance, some drivers are not happy about this.

"I think there is more than one Ferrari (team) in the race now," McLaren driver Fernando Alonso said.

"I think they are closer to the league above us than we are," Renault's Carlos Sainz said about Haas.

Steiner dismisses the suggestion that Haas should have built their team "the classic way" rather than have a strong partnership with Italian F1 giants Ferrari.

"Other new teams who tried it before us were a little stupid," Steiner explained to Formule 1.

"Don't misunderstand me - there were some intelligent people and they did nothing wrong but they did a lot of the same thing. We cannot compete with the big teams in the same way.

"Maybe it's fine the classic way, or maybe there's another, better way. We took another course and it works."
