Vijay Mallya believes his team are due a change in fortune in the second-half of the season.

Force India's team boss Vijay Mallya believes that his side deserve a change in their luck as we approach the second half of this Formula One season.

The team currently occupy sixth spot in the championship standings, 21 points behind Renault - who sit in their target spot, fourth.

The opening three races were a bit of a disaster for Force India, with just one point scored.

Mallya is confident that his Force India side have now turned a corner in the season and is confident that the team can meet their target come the end of the season.

"It's been satisfying to get both cars in the points for the last two races," Mallya told Motorsport Week.

"It's what we need to do for our fight in the constructors' championship.

"Germany marks the halfway point in the season and it feels as though we have some momentum now. The updates we introduced in Silverstone helped and there is more performance to be unlocked.

"We've been a bit unlucky in the first half of the season, especially getting caught up in the first lap incidents, so I think we are due a change of fortune."
