Fernando Alonso admits that his seven-weekend run across motorsport racing was as tough as he thought it would have been.

Fernando Alonso has spent the last seven weekends racing in different motorsport events across the world.

LMP1 duties with Toyota and the Le Mans 24 hour race have kept Alonso busy, as well as Formula One.

The break now between Silverstone and Hockenheim comes at a great time for the Spaniard, who can finally relax as he prepares for next weekend's German Grand Prix.

Alonso admits this has been a challenge these past few weeks - however, he says he has enjoyed it and he confirmed to Crash.net that this week off is all about relaxing for the 36-year-old.

"It was demanding. It was not easy, as we expected," Alonso explained.

"It was Wednesday to Sunday travelling, unpacking on Monday, packing on Tuesday. It was like this for seven consecutive weeks.

"Especially the Le Mans week was intense, with the test, the drivers parade and then the 24 hours. It's like 40 hours in total on track with the warm-up.

"It was demanding, but we'll try to enjoy now the next ten days, going back to a training routine and get a little bit more relaxed. I think the next time will be September, October, November, where I have the same thing with eight races in nine weekends in different timezones.

"It was tough, but it was well prepared."
