Lewis Hamilton is always the centre of attention. Wherever the seven-time champion goes, people want something from him. As a result, stories starring Hamilton often appear in the media and on social media. Sometimes true, usually nonsense.

In today's age, people love drama, especially off the track. For example, the Netflix series Drive to Survive is hardly about the racing itself, it is the stories around it that make for much-watched episodes. Max Verstappen spoke out (negatively) about this before. Also rival Lewis Hamilton does not cre about all those stories in the media and social media.

Excitement

Speaking to Channel 4 the Brit says: "At the core, that (racing) is what I do, why I am in the sport. For some people, it (the drama) brings extra excitement. I just want fair racing on a fair platform, wheel to wheel. And then let the best man win. Or, the best man or woman. I hope at some point there will be a woman," the Mercedes driver told the channel.

One of the 'fringe issues' that Hamilton could also does not care abaout are statistics. For the first time in his long career in F1, he failed to win a Grand Prix in a season.  No, no," says Hamilton, asked if those statistics matter to him? "I've had a great 15 years. I'm mostly grateful. Twenty years from now, I'm really not going to whine because I didn't win at least one race in every season. Then I'll think about the championships. I realise then how lucky I was to work with great people, the success we had. Things like that."
