Christian Horner as named the Ferrari engine as the one to beat following the British Grand Prix. He believes they now beating Mercedes in terms of engine performance. Since the introduction of the turbo hybrid era, only the Silver Arrows have won world championships.

Currently, Ferrari and Vettel lead their respective championships, and both have extended their leads after the British Grand Prix. The Italian team now have a 20 point advantage whilst Vettel holds an eight points gap.

Running alongside the improved Ferrari performance, Haas and Sauber have started to dominate their sections of the grid. Since the Austrian race, Haas have been deemed 'best of the rest' whilst Charles Leclerc has managed two Q3 appearances in three races.

"I think it's [Ferrari engine] setting the benchmark now. Haas and Sauber as well having made good gains," said Red Bull boss Christian Horner in an interview on crash.

"You can see the situation between the engines is very similar at the moment, and it is all about the potential development. This weekend has been a very tough weekend for Renault."

Horner won't have to worry about the French team next season as his Red Bull will use a Honda power unit. He hopes that Honda can help lift Red Bull closer to the two leading teams.

"You can't hide behind the statistics we saw this weekend. There is no gap to fill and hopefully, in Honda, we have a lot of belief what they have coming in the pipeline."
