Sebastian Vettel experienced his last Grand Prix of his Formula 1 career last weekend. The four-time world champion experienced an excellent weekend in which he showed himself in both qualifying and racing. In quitting, however, he is making exactly the right decision.

In his final season in the motorsport class, we saw Vettel finish in the points no less than 10 out of 22 GPs. The driver was most successful in Azerbaijan and Japan. In both race weekends, he managed to secure sixth place and bring in eight points for his team.

However, Vettel otherwise had little chance of success with Aston Martin over the past two seasons, leaving the great to take the risk that his contribution to Formula 1 would start to diminish. If anyone within the sport does not deserve that, it is Vettel.

In his career, the German was by far the most successful at Red Bull Racing, winning four world championships. He also showed great things at Ferrari. With his bold actions, great personality and experience, he was an enrichment to the sport.

Vettel took right decision to quit

As we would like to remember Vettel for his qualities, this season was exactly the right time to throw in the towel. The driver showed in Abu Dhabi that he still had a high level of ability, giving Formula 1 fans a final gift.

Moreover, last weekend he got a farewell he deserved. The much attention from the other Formula 1 drivers showed how a great role model he is for the sport. In short, Vettel's last race was exactly what a top driver would wish for.
