There is a good chance that Daniel Ricciardo and Red Bull Racing will come out with the news that the two sides will work together again within the foreseeable future. According to Damon Hill, this could make for an interesting situation at the Austrian formation, where the team is in dire need of a holiday.

Red Bull has had a very successful season. While Verstappen managed to take his second world title in a row in Japan, his team managed to win the constructors' championship in the United States. However, something remarkable happened in Brazil when Verstappen refused to let teammate Sergio Perez pass him.

Opportunities for Ricciardo

Helmut Marko revealed on Friday that negotiations between Ricciardo and Red Bull are going well, making him likely to be the team's reserve driver in 2023. Hill argues that the Australian could just be in the right position, as the relationship between Perez and Verstappen does not seem to be good at the moment.

"It could be quite an interesting one if you think about the problems they have apparently had between Max and Sergio," Hill expressed in a conversation with Sky Sports. "Ricciardo could be in prime position."

Indeed, Hill does not rule out Perez entering his final year next season. "I am sure that Sergio's contract is watertight, and he will be there for a long time but if relationships deteriorate, sometimes it becomes unworkable, and the suspicion is Max has quite a lot of power in that team."
