Sergio Perez has launched a special helmet with which he will drive his home race. On Red Bull Racing's Twitter channel, the Mexican proudly showed off his new helmet.

With only three races to go, Perez is embroiled in an exciting battle for second place. Charles Leclerc is currently just three points ahead of him in the standings. There was already much talk of a possible win for Perez at his home race, something that would do his position in the standings a lot of good.

At least the helmet will not be an issue. Perez showed on Wednesday his new helmet with which he will drive the race, which is full of Mexican symbolism. The Mexican flag can be seen, of course, but more of the Latin country's culture can be found. The centrepiece is modelled on the mask of a luchador, a Mexican wrestler. Perez himself laughingly calls it "the most Mexican helmet I have ever worn", and hopes for a good result.

Last season, Perez finished third at the Mexican Grand Prix, edging ahead of teammate Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton on the podium.
