Haas driver Romain Grosjean says there "was no obvious reason" for his crash in qualifying for the French Grand Prix.

Grosjean and his Haas team-mate Kevin Magnussen both got a spot in Q3 for the third time this season.

The French driver did not manage to set a time and will compete in an all Haas fifth row in tenth.

Grosjean's crash was not a serious one, however the Haas driver was unable to continue - meaning he couldn't set a quick enough lap time.

"There was no obvious reason (why I) lost the rear end," Grosjean explained.

"We'll look at the data (and continue) to investigate to understand a bit more.

"I was pretty much doing as I was before.

"It is frustrating, (as) we haven't had much luck since Australia.

"I was hoping this weekend would run smoothly, and that (has) been the case.

"We're going to do our best to come back and get seventh (in) the race tomorrow. (It) is where we should have qualified."

Grosjean's season hasn't been ideal thus far.

The Frenchman's failed to score a point as of yet, and has lost big scores on numerous occasions.
