Sebastian Vettel is looking forward to the United States Grand Prix, where he aims to finish in the top ten for the third time in a row to aim for sixth place among constructors. Teammate Lance Stroll is also optimistic in his outlook for the weekend in the preview from Aston Martin.

The end of the 2022 season is getting closer and closer. Counting the United States Grand Prix, there are still four races to go. Despite Max Verstappen having already been declared world champion, it is still exciting when it comes to the standings in the constructors' standings. Red Bull Racing seems the big contender and favourite to capture this title as well. Yet there is also a fierce battle for sixth place. At the moment, this position is held by Alfa Romeo, ahead of Aston Martin by just seven points. In Singapore and Japan, Vettel finished in the top ten in both races, with teammate Lance Stroll also managing to enter the points at Marina Bay. Thanks to these results, the British team managed to overtake Haas and AlphaTauri who are now 11 points behind.

Special

The US GP has special significance for Vettel, who is getting closer to retirement but remembers the beginning of his career well: “I made my Formula One debut at the US Grand Prix, at Indianapolis, 15 years ago. It is always a great feeling to return – especially to such an exciting track, with lots of really challenging sectors. As ever, it is tough to predict exactly where we will be in the midfield battle, but recent races have shown we can regularly challenge for points positions, so I feel confident. We want to carry our positive momentum all the way to the end of the season.”

Optimism

Stroll also shares the sense of optimism: "Austin is an incredible city that has an electric atmosphere throughout the F1 weekend, I'm really excited to get lapping at Circuit of the Americas. We have shown great pace in recent races and I believe we will here as well. Additionally, we now find ourselves in a fight for sixth position in the Constructors’ Championship after a couple of strong team results, so we will be looking to pick up more points and close that gap in the standings."
