Red Bull have switched engine suppliers from Renault to Honda.

Red Bull Racing have officially confirmed that their engines will be supplied by Honda from the 2019 website, on their official website.

Renault have announced on their official website that they have acknowledged the switch from Red Bull.

French outfit L'Equipe has reported last night that there is set to be an official announcement today confirming the switch.

Cyril Abiteboul, Renault's boss called for Red Bull to hurry up last week with their decision and the Austrian side have finally made their decision.

This separation has looked likely for three years now following a very public and hostile relationship between the sides.

Public arguments and unwanted results have led to this decision from Christian Horner and Red Bull.

Red Bull want to make that final push to ensure they challenge for a world title and they believe with a Honda engine, they can do just that.

Horner commented on Honda's engine upgrade in the last race weekend in Canada.

"From what I hear, they (Honda) have made a good step this weekend," the Red Bull boss said.

"Renault have brought what they advertised as well.

"Now we have a bunch of GPS data to go away and analyse and look at the relative performance."
