Carlos Sainz Jr. is happy with the progression that Renault are making this season.

Sainz knows that Renault have to keep up with their good form to avoid moving backwards.

"We're coming from a very strong team result in Canada," the Renault driver said.

Sainz finished in eighth place with his team mate, Nico Hulkenberg finishing one place above him.

The Spanish international has achieved top 10 races in every race bar one this season.

With Hulkenberg's impressive form as well, Renault sit in fourth place and lead the 'best of the rest' mini-league.

Sainz admits that there is a long way to go if Renault are to keep up this good form all season.

"We need to keep developing the car at this rate," Sainz told F1i.com.

"Everything we're bringing to the circuit is working and the car is getting quicker and quicker.

"I feel we are making good process every time I go on the track.

"And this is translating into points, shown at the past few races.

"It's good to be consistent and to keep picking up points every race.

"That's the target every weekend, so let's make it six in a row in France!"

It's a big weekend for Renault, with the Circuit Paul Ricard being raced on for the first time since 1990 - four years before Sainz Jr. was born.
