Max Verstappen was not too happy with his team on Saturday, but according to Jos Verstappen, he is now back to his relaxed self. Besides, the wet conditions at the Marina Bay Street Circuit are more than welcome.

Verstappen has cooled down

"This morning he was still quite annoyed, but now he is nice and relaxed. It was unfortunate, also that lap before with two purple sectors, if they had continued that he would have been fast enough for pole position. So yeah, then you're bummed, especially when you turn on after that and then have to stop again and then haven't really been able to drive a time," Verstappen explained to Viaplay.

The rain that fell leading up to the start comes as a godsend for Verstappen, who may be able to do more in wet conditions than on dry. " We don't mind it being damp now," Jos said.

Verstappen does not think his son was able to learn much from the qualifying conditions. "The dry spots always come in a different place, so I don't think you can take much from qualifying into the race. I have full confidence in what he can do in the rain. In any case, it will be a more exciting race than if he had started at the front," Verstappen said.
