After a frustrating end to his qualifying on Saturday, Max Verstappen seems to have recovered a little from the disappointment. He is therefore putting his focus on the race and sees possible opportunities in the unpredictable weather conditions.

Verstappen looks ahead

After a costly error of judgement by Red Bull Racing, Verstappen decided to skip the debrief with his team. He left highly critical of his team's blunder and feels it should not have happened, given the sophisticated equipment the engineers have at their disposal. A day later, the Dutchman seems to have cooled down a bit and is especially keen to put Saturday's disappointment behind him.

"Yesterday happened, so we just have to look ahead to today. Let's see what the weather will do and let's try to make a good race," Verstappen indicated during a broadcast on the YouTube channel of Formula 1.

Earlier, Verstappen indicated that the Marina Bay Street Circuit is akin to Monaco and that overtaking will be a huge challenge. He is therefore focusing on scoring as many points as possible. "We'll try to do our best, we know it's not gonna be easy but we'll try to score some good points," said the reigning world champion.
