Max Verstappen still has the theoretical possibility of securing the world title at the Singapore Grand Prix. However, with Charles Leclerc's pole position and the Dutchman's P8 starting position, that chance seems slim. Charles Leclerc told Speedweek.com that he is by no means concerned with the standings in the World Championship.

Leclerc, meanwhile, has accepted that Verstappen will run away with the world title again this year. The championship difference has grown to more than 100 points, making it almost impossible for the Dutch driver to go wrong. Nevertheless, he is not giving up yet in Singapore.

"I don't care. I want to win here. That's all that matters to me," Leclerc stressed about the situation in the rankings. "I know it's only a matter of time before Max takes his title, but when that happens is really not that important for me right now."

Leclerc happily surprised with pole position

Shortly after qualifying, Leclerc hinted that he had stopped expecting to start at the front. Indeed, Verstappen was setting a faster race lap, which made him look to take the pole. However, a lack of fuel in Verstappen's car meant things still went wrong for him.
