The third free practice session could be a very interesting one. Rain has descended on Singapore and it is not yet certain whether it will stop before the start for VT3. In any case, it looks like Red Bull Racing still has some catching up to do.

Rain pours down in Singapore

While sessions remained dry on Friday in Singapore, that could change on Saturday. A big storm has come ashore in the Asian city-state and as most sessions are in the evening after sunset, the track is not drying up any time soon.

Red Bull needs to catch up

Friday was not yet the day of Max Verstappen and Red Bull. In the first free practice, the Dutchman still managed to finish second behind Lewis Hamilton, but in VT2 Verstappen fell back to outside the top three, behind both Ferraris.

Behind the usual three teams, Alpine seems to have the best papers. In both VT1 and VT2, Esteban Ocon and Fernando Alonso were both in the top ten.
