Daniel Ricciardo could just make a move to NASCAR in 2023. According to The Herald Sun a move to a new team in the American racing class is among the serious possibilities.

Ricciardo drove at Red Bull Racing from 2014 and managed to achieve good results there. He made a surprise switch to Renault in 2018. Then the Australian left again two years later and took Carlos Sainz's spot at McLaren, which is also not a success story for now. Now next year Oscar Piastri will take over the driver's seat. For now, the only hope for an F1 seat seems to be with Alpine and Haas. Another option would be a reserve role at Mercedes.

Justin Marks, the team boss of the new Trackhouse Racing Project 91 team which competes in NASCAR, sees a perfect candidate in Ricciardo. According to the Australian newspaper, Ricciardo is interested in making the switch when there is no longer a place for him in Formula 1.

Market value

Marks sees a financial advantage in the Australian in addition to the Perth-based driver's racing skills; he is said to represent a high market value. Ricciardo should increase NASCAR's ratings in Australia, which will also increase sponsorships. The Trackhouse team would be keen to take advantage of this.
